You will need:

Cotton yarn white color

Cotton yarn blue color

Cotton yarn grey color

Cotton yarn red color

Cotton yarn skin color

Cotton yarn black color

Crochet hook 3.5mm

Needle for sewing

Fiberfill

Safety eyes (optional)

Stitch guide:

CLICK FOR BASIC CROCHET STITCHES

Chain (ch): Yarn over and pull through loop.

Single crochet (sc): Insert hook in stitch. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and draw through 2 loops.

Slip stitch (slst): Insert hook in stitch yarn over and pull through 2 loops.

Single crochet increase (inc): singe crochet in the same stitch follow the instructions.

Single crochet decrease (dec): insert hook in front loop of the next 2 stitches. Yarn over draw through 2 loops.

3 dc Popcorn stitch: create 3 double crochet into the same stitch, take out the hook from the loop, insert the hook into the first double crochet , pick up the loop that you've dropped and pull through the loop.

Notes:

This pattern is worked in a continuous spiral without closing off each round. Please mark the first stitch of each round and move the marker up as you work.

Fasten off leaving yarn for sewing.

Legs (make 2):

Rnd 5: 18 sc (18)

Rnd 6: (sc in the next stitch, dec) repeat 3 times (15)

Rnd 7: dec repeat 4 times, sc in the next 7 stitches,stuff the shoes, change to grey color in the last stitch (11)

The beard is made by crocheting 3 dc popcorn stitches, as shown in the following charts

Row 1: ch 10

Row 2: the row starts with ch 3 that count as the first dc. Create 3 double crochet into the same stitch, take out the hook from the loop, insert the hook into the first double crochet (or the last stitch of the first ch 3 that count as dc), pick up the loop that you've dropped and pull through the loop. Ch 1, skip the next stitch. Continue in this pattern (3 dc popcorn stitch, ch 1, skip stitch) for 5 times.

Row 3: turn, ch 3 count as the first dc of the first popcorn stitch, (3 dc popcorn stitch, ch 1, skip stitch) for 4 times, the popcorn stitch is in the space of the ch 1 from the previous row.

Row 4: turn, ch 3 count as the first dc of the first popcorn stitch, (3 dc popcorn stitch, ch 1, skip stitch) for 3 times, the popcorn stitch is in the space of the ch 1 from the previous row

Row 5: turn, ch 3 count as the first dc of the first popcorn stitch, (3 dc popcorn stitch, ch 1, skip stitch) for 2 times, the popcorn stitch is in the space of the ch 1 from the previous row

Row 6: turn, ch 3 count as the first dc of the popcorn stitch, 2 dc in the same stitch complete the popcorn stitch, the popcorn stitch is in the space of the ch 1 from the previous row.

Assemble the beard to the gnome head
