Few facts..
- A baby hedgehog is called a hoglet
- Hedgehogs have about 5,000 to 6,500 spines at any one time
- Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals, often sleep during the day
in a nest or under bushes and shrubs before coming out to feed at night.
You will need:
Cotton/chenille yarn skin/powder/light brown color - body (more then 25g)
Cotton yarn blue color
Cotton yarn black color
Cotton yarn brown color (for the hair)
Cotton yarn yellow color (for the vest)
Cotton yarn red color (for the mouth)
Crochet hook 3.5mm
For chenille yarn - 4mm hook
Needle for sewing
Fiberfill
Safety eyes
Wire (optional)
Stitch guide:
chain (ch): Yarn over and pull through loop.
Single crochet (sc): Insert hook in stitch. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and draw through 2 loops.
Half double crochet (hdc): Yarn over, insert hook in stitch. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and draw through all loops.
Slip stitch (slst): Insert hook in stitch yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
Single crochet increase (inc): 2 single crochet in the same stitch follow the instructions.
Single crochet decrease (dec): insert hook in front loop of the next 2 stitches. Yarn over draw through 2 loops.
Back loop only (blo): crocheting in the back loop only
front loop only (flo): crocheting in the front loop only
Doll size: 8.25 inch (21 cm)
Notes:
This pattern is worked in a continuous spiral without closing off each round. Please mark the first stitch of each round and move the marker up as you work.

Don't fasten off and cut the yarn after finishing the second leg, continue with the body color (skin/powder/light brown), stuff the legs with fiberfill and continue crocheting the body

Assemble the ears and the nose to the head, in the first round of the blo, above the eyes:
Spines:
With brown color, sc to the last stitch of round 11 of the head (one round before the last blo round), work in the flo with the following pattern, ch 3, slst to the second stitch from the hook, slst to the next stitch in the head, repeat in this pattern around all the free front loops
Do the same in the back of the Hedgehog
Assemble the head to the body, use wire for extra stability (optional):

Fasten off leaving yarn for sewing, do not fiberfill the arms.
