Crochet unicorn phone case



You will need:

Cotton yarn in white color

Cotton yarn in pink color

Cotton yarn in three different colors (hair)

Cotton yarn in black color (for the eyes)

Hook 3.5 mm

Needle for sewing

Button

Stitch guide:

Chain (ch): Yarn over and pull through loop.

Single crochet (sc): Insert hook in stitch. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and draw through 2 loops.

Double crochet (dc):Yarn over, insert hook in stitch. Yarn over and pull up a loop. Yarn over and draw through 2 loops, Yarn over and draw through remaining 2 loops.

Single crochet decrease (dec): insert hook in the next st yarn over draw through 1 loop, insert the hook into the next st yarn over draw through 1 loop, yarn over draw through all loops.

Slip stitch (slst): Insert hook in stitch yarn over and pull through all loops.

6.5 inch high * 3.8 inch wide (10 X 17 cm)

 

The pattern:


The case:

With white or pink color

Rnd 1: ch 18 + 1



Rnd 2: from the second stitch from the hook, (sc, dc in the next stitch, sc in the next stitch..) continue in this pattern (sc, dc) for the whole basic chain (18). continue to the other side of the chain (in a spiral) with the same pattern, slip stitch to the first ch 1 (the 19th ch) as you can see in the following chart (36)


The first 18 stitches -


Rnd 3: the first stitch is always the same as the last stitch of the previous round, for this round, (ch1, dc, sc, dc, sc...., repeat until the end of round and slst to the ch 1) (36)

Rnd 4: the first stitch is always the same as the last stitch of the previous round, for this round, (ch1, sc, dc, sc, dc....repeat until the end of round and slst to the ch 1) (36)

Rnd 5: the same as Rnd 3 (36)



Rnd 6: the same as Rnd 4, if you chose to start with pink change to white in the last stitch (36)

Rnd 7: the same as Rnd 3 (36)

Rnd 8: the same as Rnd 4 (36)

Rnd 9: the same as Rnd 3 (36)

Rnd 10: the same as Rnd 4 (36)

Creating the first ear:

Continue with the white yarn

Row 1: working in rows for the first ear: dec, sc in the next 2 stitches, dec, ch 1 turn (4)



Row 2: dec, dec, ch1 turn (2)



Row 3: dec, ch1 turn (1)

sl st down the ear back to Rnd 27, sl st for the next 6 stitches



Creating the second ear:

Row 1: working in rows for the second ear: dec, sc in the next 2 stitches, dec, ch1 turn (4)



Row 2: dec, dec, ch1 turn (2)

Row 3: dec, ch1 turn (1)

sl st down the ear back to Rnd 27, sl st for the next 18 stitches to the end of the row



Creating the horn

With Pink color

Row 1: ch 1 in Rnd 27 in the first sl st between the ears, sc in the same stitch, sc in the next 5 stitches, ch 1, turn (6)

Row 2: dec, sc in the next 4 stitches, ch 1, turn (5)

Row 3: dec, sc in the next 3 stitches, ch 1, turn (4)

Row 4: dec, sc in the next 2 stitches, ch 1, turn (3)

Row 5: dec, sc in the next 1 stitch, ch 1, turn (2)

Row 6: dec, ch 1, turn (1)


sl st down the ear back to Rnd 27, for extra stability sl st around the horn


With Black yarn embroider the eyes:


Hair (make 3)

Use 3 different colors



Row 1: ch 21 (for the second ch 24, for the third ch 26)


Row 2: from the second stitch from the hook, 3 sc in each stitch

Sew the hairs together

Sew the hairs to the case:



Case carry handle:

With white color



Row 1: ch 1 connecting the yarn to the case in the stitch next to the left ear. Continue creating a chain of 33 ch (or as long as you want).


Row 2: from the hook, sl st to the base of the case (back to Rnd 27), sc the chain to the case, as you can see the following picture:

Secure the phone with attaching a button to the case:


Sew the button -

Create a chain loop -









Done!!
